Tulsk Productions are a group of Irish and US producers and scholars fascinated with twentieth century poet and mystic Ella Young. Our team leader, Dorothea MacDowell, is the author of Ella Young’s biography, Ella Young and Her World. We completed The Morrigan in 2020, broadcasting it on Dublin City Radio. That radio drama told the story of Ella Young’s life in the cultural and political movement that led to the 1916 Rising and foundation of the Irish Free State. You can listen to The Morrigan here. It’s less than an hour long.

The Morrigan was funded by private and public donations, mainly from Ireland. We are now assembling funding for Halcyon Days, a limited-series podcast which will tell the story of how Ella Young left post-revolutionary Ireland and inspired a cultural revolution that continues today. Eventually, we would like to make a film.

Halcyon Days team:

  • Dorothea McDowell: Biographer of Ella Young & Subject Matter Expert

  • Ben Purper, Scriptwriter

  • Tony Phillips: Executive Producer, Europe & South America

  • Linda Rosewood: Executive Producer, North America

  • Production Crew TBD: Director, Sound Engineer, Musical Composers

  • Cast: TBD (both US and Irish Talent)

We are currently raising funds to complete Halcyon Days by the end of 2024. Tulsk is based in Dublin with a fiscal sponsorship kindly provided by the GLBT Historical Society of San Francisco.
